Bio of Tamika Vantifflin:
Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Tamika was adopted and raised in rural Michigan along with her 20 brothers and sisters. Growing up, Tamika had a vivid imagination and a passion for learning. Her twin sister inspired her to fall in love with Black History, encouraging her to learn more, which sparked her curiosity as to why Black people weren't represented in history
books. A former beauty queen, Tamika believes representation is essential in schools and it is imperative for positive Black History to be incorporated into the education system. It is Tamika's passion to share Black history and heritage with childrenand to make sure all cultures are reflected in the stories they read.
